Air Force Lt. Gen. William Etter took command of the Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Region-First Air Force on March 7 at a ceremony at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.

During the ceremony, officiated by Gen. Charles Jacoby Jr., commander of NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, Etter assumed command from Lt. Gen. Stanley E. Clarke III. General Clarke is moving on to become the Director of the Air National Guard in Washington D.C.
