CRIME STOPPERS: Identity theft and fraud at Ace Hardware

ASHLAND, Ore. – Ashland Police are looking for a man who committed theft and fraud at Ace Hardware.

Police say he used a fraudulent card to purchase tools. They say he was later caught on camera doing the same thing at Fields Home Center in Grants Pass.

Deputy Chief Warren Hensman says there may also be a woman involved and the community needs to pay close attention to these types of incidents.

“Keep an eye on your bank accounts, keep an eye on your credit card statements, keep an eye on your credit report, try to get in a habit of checking that on a frequent basis,” Chief Warren said.

He says the suspect is driving a pearl white 2007-2014 Chevrolet Tahoe with a roof storage rack and can possibly be found in Los Angeles, California.

The suspect is identified as a Hispanic, 6’2″heavy-built man.
