Director, Information Technology (Innovation & Digital Strategy)

The Director, Information Technology (Innovation & Digital Strategy) oversees several functional areas within the Information Technology department. This position oversees ongoing maintenance and support of existing programs as well as the development of new solutions from initiation to completion. The successful candidate will work at the tactical and strategic levels for optimizing and streamlining productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Defines technology roadmaps in collaboration with business partners and architecture team to support business growth
Participates in creating and implementing strategies that improve business processes
Works in partnership with technical experts, architects, business analysts, and developers from external strategic partners and within IT to design and guide new software solutions and to revise or integrate with existing applications
Manages and leads subordinate managers and software engineers in the development and support of business solutions in-line with client needs, including documentation and procedures
Ensures deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet the quality levels expected by MedImpact’s internal and external customers
Communicates status, successes and barriers to IT Leadership Team on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.Ensures good communication between end-users, IT staff and external strategic partners
Aligns and collaborates closely with internal departments and external strategic partnerships to direct multiple development efforts
Manages the definition of requirements and creates high-level business and technical architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with new or existing systems/platforms
Monitors and directs internally developed solutions to substantiate solution design meets standard architecture considerations and approvals to include: (1) standard database structures, (2) code standards, (3) common components and reusable programs (4) security and performance levels, (5) system interfaces and dependencies
Manages and leads project enhancements and achieves outcomes in a deadline driven and continuously changing environment.Manage risks, issues and day-to-day operations by identifying, communicating, tracking and mitigating issues
Education and/or Experience
For consideration, candidates will need a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or related technical discipline along with a minimum of fifteen (15) plus years’ related IT experience. Candidates must have at least five (5) years’ prior job related experience managing software professionals along with solid software development experience in a healthcare, pharmacy, pharmaceutical or electronic commerce environment. Experience developing commercial software products or enterprise software applications is required.
Proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Project) to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data
Experience with finance and accounting software solutions
Familiar with object-oriented design, comfortable with IT concepts and current software programs (Databases, SQL, etc.)
Working knowledge of Oracle, Java, Windows, custom applications, and package solutions
Other Skills and Abilities
Solid working knowledge and practical application of SDLC
Extensive knowledge of strategy setting, program requirement and project management methodologies and system development methodologies.
Good problem solving, business analysis and project management, including conceptual and analytical skills.
Good understanding of finance and accounting principles
Demonstrated ability to be client focused, responsive, flexible, positive and committed to delivering quality service and improvement in an environment of continuous change.
Ability to work effectively with external partners/vendors to implement new programs.
Proven ability to work as a team player and develop solid work partnerships
