DISASTER RECOVERY ANALYST
Details: Job Classification: Contract TEKsystems is looking for a Disaster Recovery Analyst for a 6 month contract to hire opportunity for one of our clients in Wilmington, DE.The Disaster Recovery Analyst will work to develop recovery plans in order to prove that user developed business applications (UDBA) can be recovered in an appropriate amount of time in case of a system outage. They will work to expose system issues, remediate the issues, and then drive the recovery process. They will work with the developers of the UDBAs to write disaster recovery plans, supports a variety of testing for Disaster Recovery, Fail-over validation, database switchover, and third party Disaster Recovery validation. The Analyst will coordinate business recovery training and exercises, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines, risk management, coordinate contingency site preparation and actual test event scheduling and support, and post test problem resolution. Responsibilities-Analyze application and system configurations of critical corporate resources to recommend disaster avoidance measures and improved backup capabilities. -Periodically meet with management to review changes in corporate resources to ensure the effectiveness of the recovery procedures and backup capabilities. -Interface with the Project Delivery Process to implement and test disaster recovery solutions. -Coordinate the efforts of staff members in different functional areas to develop procedures for the continuity of business processes in a disaster situation. -Assure that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources and for the resumption of critical business processes. -Develop and maintain standards and procedures for disaster recovery documentation. -Maintain a library of recovery support and business resumption procedures. -Work with vendors with respect to their disaster recovery services and facilities. -Ensure that as new equipment, facilities, services, and systems are installed that the disaster recovery and fail-over issues are addressed. -Work with performance, development, and project teams to design, coordinate, and test infrastructure fail-over for systems and databases. Top 3 Skills1. 5+ years of experience working in the field of Disaster Recovery writing and testing plans to prove that critical applications can be recovered in an appropriate amount of time.2. Experience as a Disaster Recovery Analyst working in a team environment for the development of recovery strategies and continuity plans.3. Experience with recovery training, guideline compliance, risk management, contingency site prep, test event scheduling, and post test problem resolution.
