Explosive detection by canines to undergo a thorough examination
TSA is looking for ways to improve the ability of canines to detect explosives, and issued a broad agency announcement on Oct. 24 to gather white papers from prospective contractors who can contribute to such research.
According to its solicitation, TSA wants to better understand the “olfactory abilities and limitations of canines” and the “variables affecting the canines’ performance.”
