Responsible for the monitoring of data loss and acquiring and analyzing digital forensic information by utilizing the latest technologies, procedures, and processes. Researches and documents findings. Recommends appropriate action based on discovered results.Fundamental Components:
Discovers and handles cases of internet violations such as, but not limited to, HIPAA & PHI, inappropriate use of emails or external websites, and misuse of company resources, generated through content monitoring software.
Conducts research to determine the severity of the violation. Identifies anomalies in the data. Determines data/evidence needed for the investigation and collects pertinent data/evidence for each case.
Documents all cases in a centralized database for use by IS, Information Security, HR, and Compliance.
Present findings and provides recommended course of action based on discovered results to management, HR, Compliance, Legal, and/or outside counsel.
Provides input to business management relative to security control weaknesses and mitigation for routine matters.
Performs basic analyses of hard drives in support of internal investigations.
Assists with hands-on acquisitions in support of pending requests, including, but not limited to, hard drive forensic capture, network share data capture, email extraction, and system log events.
Provides solutions to problems that arise with little or no precedents.
Performs other duties as required
