Wilmington, MA-based detection technology provider Implant Sciences Corp. said it has supplied handheld explosives detectors to help guard a “major sporting event” in London this summer.

The announcement, made on Aug. 31, didn’t specify the event, although the 2012 Olympic Games were held in the city in August.
