As an Information Security Engineer, you will assume an advanced role across multiple security domains in the implementation of the established Enterprise or Agency Information Security Program to ensure that State information assets are adequately protected against internal/external threats
This position will set policies and standards, provide training and awareness, and drive and assess compliance within the following security domain areas – system access, telecommunications and network security, security management practices, application and system development security, cryptography, security architecture and models, operational security, security related incidents, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, incident management, legal investigations, and computer forensics systems
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:
This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in an information security role that includes:
Experience conducting risk assessments; providing assistance in the identification, prioritization and remediation of information systems vulnerabilities
Experience developing information security policies, standards, and procedures
Experience with coordination and management of external security assessments and audits
A Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field may substitute for three years of experience, related Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years, or related Associate’s may substitute for one year.

Certifications: CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM or other relevant information security certification
Experience developing specific security solutions for a wide array of information security problems
Knowledge of Information security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/17799, COBIT, ITIL, data privacy laws, computer crime laws, statewide data protection laws, etc.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements that have a direct relationship to information security practices such as FISMA, HIPAA, CJIS, IRS Special Publication 1075
Experience with performing Payment Card Industry (PCI DSS) assessments and/or consulting
