With Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus officially unveiled, the jailbreaking community has its eyes set on the forthcoming iOS 10 jailbreak tool. Apple is set to officially launch the new mobile operating system for iPhones, iPads and iPods starting September 13.
As usual, hackers haven’t clarified the release timing of the much anticipated “iOS 10 Jailbreak tool” device. However, the iOS 10 jailbreak is expected to debut soon enough in upcoming days before Apple launches any more security updates to prevent the hacking community to build in-roads to jailbreak. Lately, two of the popular hacker teams already have broken the Apple’s security to build a jailbreak in to iOS 10.
Luca Todesco’s iOS 10 Jailbreak
One of the recently popular iOS hackers Luca Todesco who gained spotlight earlier for breaking through iOS 9.3.4 has now jailbroken iOS 10. Todesco published a YouTube video demonstrating a working jailbreak running on iOS 10 beta 8.
The jailbreak, dubbed “yaluX” in the title of the teaser video, was demonstrated on what appears to be a 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The title also indicated that it is once again a 64-bit-only jailbreak. The jailbreak yet again appears to use an app on the Home screen.
It seems that Todesco has created some sort of side-loaded app with jailbreak injection code built into it. Upon tapping on a button within the app, it displays the word “jailbroken” and Cydia can be launched from the Home screen. However, Todesco noted that some sort of problem plagues the jailbreak as Cydia “wants to remove itself” from the Home screen for some unknown reason.
Despite Todesco’s previous record of not releasing jailbreak tools for the public, reports hope he might indeed release iOS 10 jailbreak. There are indications that he might try to compete with the Team Pangu to give users the taste of his hacking skills.
iH8sn0w iOS10 Jailbreak
Another well known hacker who goes by the name “iH8sn0w” also cracked the Apple security and succeeded in jailbreaking iOS 10. He demonstrated the untethered iOS 10 jailbreak in a YouTube video showing Cydia running on his iPhone 5. The video showed jailbroken iOS10 on a 32-bit device, which is rather different from newer 64-bit devices. iH8sn0w isn’t likely to release a public tool either.
Team Pangu iOS 10 Jailbreak
The Chinese hacking team, Pangu, on the other hand is right now silent on the iOS 10 jailbreak. But to their credit Pangu was able to demonstrate Jailbroken iOS10 earlier this year few weeks after launch of iOS 10 at Apple’s WWDC event. Team Pangu had demonstrated live the workings of an iOS 10 jailbreak tool in their MOSEC conference.
