PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

The Sr. Systems Administrator designs, implements, and manages Windows and Linux servers for the entire organization. Designs, implements, and manages LAN hardware and firewalls for the entire organization. Oversee installation, ensure back up systems operate effectively, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical and applications problems. Operating under the direction of an IT Manager or Director, the Sr. Systems Administrator is an experienced worker with technical expertise of business requirements.

KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES (WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE):

Designs, implements and supports a high level Active Directory architecture based on Microsoft networking technology and industry best practices.
Responsible for Active Directory user and group account administration, applies security rights to user-level and share-level permissions and maintains Group Policy Objects across user and group Organizational Units.
Monitors systems performance of servers / networks and responds to errors and emergency problems. Determines whether adjustments need to be made, and analyzes changes that might need to be made in the future.
Ability to script repetitive tasks in operations shells such as PowerShell and/or BASH.
Develops plans for implementation of new systems or changes to existing systems, coordinates process with the SysOps team and maintains accurate records in accordance with the Change Control Policy.
Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts diagnostics to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance.
Prepares evaluations of software and hardware, and submits recommendations to management for review.
