Details: STORAGE SPECIALISTPOSITION SUMMARYMaintains, monitors, designs, and supports IT and Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure with critical reliability and maximum uptime.  Position will be responsible for the overall SAN Engineering Administration, periodic maintenance, tools management and support for the enterprise.  Performs technical functions including supporting, evaluating, implementing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and systems for an Enterprise SAN environment.  Maintains a high level of service on SAN production systems and anticipates future requirements, trends, and changes to assure current and future customer satisfaction.  Creates and maintains graphical and text-based documentation and standards development. Assists in configuring and implementing monitoring and management systems. Available for 24×7 support as well as scheduled maintenance windows.  JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, implement and support Enterprise SAN and other LAN and WAN infrastructures.Plan and coordinate, install, configure, patch, upgrade and maintain SAN technologies.Create and maintain infrastructure standards documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems design, configuration, support, and processes.Conduct research, cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis on proposed hardware, software and systems to justify recommendations, support purchasing efforts and aid management in making infrastructure design and architecture decisions. Design, implement, and engineer system security standards, system backup procedures and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.Manage capacity and performance of the SAN infrastructure ensuring the integrity of the infrastructure.  Proactively monitor, test, collect and analyze system performance statistical data to improve quality of SAN environment.Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multi-vendor infrastructure.JOB QUALIFICATIONSOutstanding customer service skills.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.  Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, peers and outside vendors.  Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, organizational skills, and ability to analyze business problems and opportunities.  Strong ability to work on and prioritize multiple, concurrent projects while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with little supervision.
