Technology trends – the rise of public cloud
pixvid.me Data from two key IDG studies points at a potentially significant increase in spending on public cloud solutions by enterprise-class organizations. First, in Computerworld’s “State of the Enterprise” survey, public cloud was selected as the top technology trend considered for deployment in the next 12-24 months. Similarly, public cloud took the top spot of all technologies on the CIO’s radar according toCIO magazine’s recent tech poll. These two results indicate that businesses are now ready and moving towards public cloud. This data is a bit surprising given older trends which demonstrated that mostly small and mid-sized companies and few enterprise companies, have gravitated towards public cloud. However, – these larger enterprises now appear to be on board with the public cloud and are no longer as concerned with security and regulation risks.
