U.S. funds approved for nuclear security programs in Ukraine and Russia
Almost $3 million has been approved by U.S. nuclear security agencies to fuel collaborative nuclear security and development projects in the Ukraine and the Russian Federation, said the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) on July 26.
The projects, financed by NNSA’s Global Initiatives for Proliferation Prevention (GIPP) program, will be managed jointly through the intergovernmental International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), located in the Russian Federation, and the Science and Technology Center (STCU) in the Ukraine.
