When you DL the firmware from the website I provided you wouldn’t get a folder. You get the custom IPSW.

Do you mean Cydia apps or Appstore apps? Once you backup your phone in iTunes, you can put back on ALL your data after the jailbreak. If you want to backup your Cydia stuff, use one of the backup utilities like xBackup or PKGBackup. After the jailbreak you just use the backup utility again to restore this time.

When i download the firmware for my ipod, it doesnt show up in that lego-looking shape. and everytime i browse for it, i just keep going into each file deeper and deeper, until it says nothing matches my search.
Any ideas why this is happening? and how to fix it?
