A Siskiyou County woman was sentenced to two years in federal prison this morning for her role in a 2015 mail fraud scam.
According to the U.S. Attorney, 29-year-old Stacy Phillips will serve two years and must pay just over $2100 in restitution after she pleaded guilty to bank fraud and identity theft back in April.
Prosecutors say between September and December of 2015, Phillips stole mail from neighborhood mailboxes in Hornbrook, Grenada, Montague and Weed.
Some of the mail contained checks that Phillips attempted to cash, other mail had secure information that she used to apply for credit cards to purchase items.
