A talk in Valparaiso will focus on cyberpunk hacking and security.
Duneland Innovators, an initiative by the Crown Point-based marketing firm Mystic Waters Media, invited Cameron Banga to speak at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Figure 8 Brewing at 150 S. Washington St. in downtown Valparaiso.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to talk about one of my favorite topics — hacking,” Banga said.
“As we move toward a more centralized, curated and controlled Internet, it’s important to stop and remember the unconventional counterculturists who helped build the Internet that made today possible. By presenting to the Duneland Innovators Meetup group, I hope I can help encourage others to think a bit more outside the box, so that the hacker mentality can be applied to their work as well.”
Duneland Innovators holds educational talks for the public at Figure 8 on the first Wednesday of every month. Networking also takes place.
“Continuing the tradition of excellent speakers, Cameron is another great addition to the series,” Duneland Innovators Media Coordinator Michael Finney said. “We’re all really excited to hear his presentation, which is incredibly relevant in this era of constant cyber crime and rapid technological development.”
