11 arrested in Orlando in online ‘child predator’ sting – Orlando Sentinel | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

A multi-agency sting operation targeting suspected child predators led to 11 arrests in Orlando, with three suspects facing federal charges, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The arrests, made within the last week, were part of what was dubbed as “Operation CACHE,” where undercover investigators posed as minors or parents of minors online to lure people seeking sex with 13- or 14-year-olds.

The arrests included: Stanley Champagne, 35; Jermaurey Bonner, 31; Ross Greenhill, 35; Ivan Lopez Guzman,43; Pooran Ramjattan, 61; Altravias King, 35; James Winston, 77; Jessie Turner II, 30; Daniel Hilaryo Hidalgo, 27; Justin Acevedo, 25; and Jonathan Rodriguez, 18.

The suspects face charges ranging from soliciting a minor to attempted lewd and lascivious battery, and many have since been released from the Orange County Jail on bond. While the records for most of the arrests have either been sealed or were not released as of Monday, investigators communicated with at least one suspect, Ramjattan, using adult website Adult Friend Finder.

In Ramjattan’s case, investigators posing as teens appear to have been exchanging text messages with him even before OPD said the operation officially began on May 9. According to an affidavit, the texts began May 1, with Ramjattan allegedly sending vulgar messages even after the undercover persona said she was 13.

Police arrested Ramjattan May 11 after he drove to an “agreed upon meeting location,” where he was found with lemonade and Skittles, which he had allegedly mentioned in the texts, the affidavit said.

While an OPD spokesperson said three people face federal charges in the sting, only one case, that of 35-year-old King, appeared in federal court records as of Monday. Records shared with news organizations on Sunday mentioned only his name as facing charges.

King is accused of attempted enticement of a minor, just two months after his release from state prison, where he served a 10-year sentence for attempted murder. According to court filings, an undercover investigator texted King through Meet Me, a dating site where she posed as a 13-year-old girl.

The conversations quickly turned sexual, with King saying he was skeptical about meeting with a teen. Investigators said King did anyway, and he was arrested near the Mall of Millenia on Thursday.

Other participating law enforcement agencies in Operation Cache were the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the Secret Service, the Osceola County Sheriffs Office, the Seminole County Sheriffs Office, the Orange County Sheriffs Office, Altamonte Springs Police Department, Port Orange Police
Department and Sanford Police Department.
