2023 International Day against violence and bullying at school: No place for fear | #schoolsaftey

School violence – including bullying, cyberbullying, and gender-based violence – has severe and long-lasting effects on the mental health, well-being, and education of children and adolescents.

Evidence shows that experiences at school such as violence amongst peers and bullying have been associated with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Learners facing or witnessing school violence are more likely to miss school, have lower grades, and even drop out of school.

Preventing and responding to school violence is critical to make sure that all learners feel protected, safe, and ultimately learn better. Join us in commemorating this International Day and learn more about our work in fostering safe and supportive learning environments.
