Nearly 50 people were arrested in a three week joint sting operation targeting online child sexual exploitation in Texas.

A total of 47 people were arrested and charged with various sex crimes against children during the operation.

Law enforcement officials from across North Texas identified and rescued 13 children from child sexual abuse between January 15 and February 2, according to a press release from Abilene police.

Terabytes of child sexual abuse material from 447 electronic devices were seized.

The North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force headed “Operation Janus.”

A poster for the operation listed the FBI, Homeland Security, Texas Department of Public Safety and multiple Texas police departments as agencies that particpated.

The task force focuses on investigating and combating online predators preying on vulnerable youth.
