A 35-year-old Memphis man was arrested and charged in connection with accosting a child.

Derrick Glenn was arraigned in 42-1 District Court in Romeo on May 21 and is charged with three felony counts and two misdemeanors: child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime, both 20-year-felonies; accosting children for immoral purposes, a 4-year felony; a 7-year felony count of using a computer to commit a crime; and misdemeanors for indecent exposure and using a computer to commit a crime.

Glenn stood mute and a plea of not guilty was entered for him. Judge Jennifer Andary set bond at $50,000 cash/surety, no 10%.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for June 4 and a preliminary examination for June 11.

The incident was initially brought to the attention of the Memphis Police Department through “Big County’s Predator Exposure” online social media group run by Sean “Big County” Meadows. Posing as an 11-year-old girl, authorities say he communicated with Glenn on social media and via text message. Glenn sent graphic messages and images to Meadows.

On May 18, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Memphis Police Department to assist with a possible child exploitation case. MCSO deputies made contact with Memphis Police Sgt. David White at an apartment on Henderson Street for a probable cause arrest of Glenn.

White informed deputies Glenn was suspected of accosting a child for immoral purposes and requested MCSO assist with the collection of evidence, and transport and lodging of the suspect. A USB flash drive and a cellular phone were collected at the scene.

MCSO was also provided with an email with a video of the alleged incident.
