MANCHESTER — A local man arrested on child sexual abuse charges Wednesday may have additional victims who are as yet unidentified, according to police.

Galen J. Cyr, also known as Charlie J. Cyr, was charged with one count of commercial sexual abuse of a minor, four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, four counts of illegal sexual contact with a child and 11 counts of risk of injury to and/or impairing the morals of a child, Lt. Ryan Shea, a spokesperson for the Manchester Police Department, said Wednesday night.

In May, Shea said, the department’s child investigations unit received a tip about “repeated incidents of (child) sexual abuse spanning a period of several months.” Investigators identified Cyr, 51, as the suspect and determined the offenses occurred at his Manchester home, Shea said.

Officers obtained a search warrant for Cyr’s home and served it Wednesday, according to Shea. With the assistance of members of the Connecticut Center for Digital Investigations, Cyr was taken into custody without incident, Shea said. He was held on $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at state Superior Court in Manchester on Aug. 15.
