Alton sex offender charged with failing to register | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey


EDWARDSVILLE – An Alton man was charged Monday with failure to register as a child sex offender.

Preston S. Floyd, 36, was charged June 20 with unlawful failure to register as a sex offender, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sherrif’s Department.

According to court documents, on June 18 Floyd allegedly failed to register with the sheriff’s department.

Bail was set at $60,000.

Other felony charges filed June 20 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:

• Manuel Gomez-Serrano, 40, of Fairmont City, was charged with offenses relating to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by the Metro East Auto Theft Task Force. According to court documents, on June 19 Gomez-Serrano allegedly had a stolen 2002 Ford Ranger. Bail was set at $75,000.

• Timothy R. Baggett, 35, of South Roxana, was charged with offenses relating to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by South Roxana Police Department. According to court documents, on June 17 Baggett allegedly had a stolen 2003 Honda Motorcycle. Bail was set at $35,000.
