Business Overview:

The group we are hiring for provides services like Custody, Clearing, Settlement, Income/Corporate Actions, Tax, Reporting, Issuing and Paying agent etc.
Responsibilities:
The person in this role will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operations and IT support experience, Analysis of defects/enhancements and Production Support for the Global/Local Custody platform, designated by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
 
Primary responsibilities will include:
 
Projects
 
  • Elicit new requirements for system enhancements
  • Develop functional and technical specifications for system evolutions
  • Design and develop applications as per requirements
  • Hands-on coding efforts on the applications to be developed
  • Participate in the testing effort and ensure a smooth delivery in production
  • Participate in launching and following up on initiatives as assigned
  • Prioritize from assigned projects and independently accept ownership of tasks
  • Co-ordinate with various project stakeholders and provide timely updates on the status
 
Application Support
  • Perform level 1/2/3 support, as needed and analyze reported issues, and evaluate alternative business solutions and workarounds to minimize the impacts
  • Ensure a smooth follow up of all technical processes
  • Understand the database concepts and provide extractions to users whenever required
  • Participate to the night support of the application and undertake the appropriate actions
  • Fix defects identified in the application, test and promote them in production

 

 Qualifications:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree considered a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience. Experience in financial industry is a plus
  • SQL/Oracle knowledge is a must
  • Prior experience with job schedulers e.g. Autosys 11.3.6 is a plus
  • Scripting knowledge with languages like VB, Java or .NET is a must
  • UNIX shell scripting experience is a plus
  • Experience with different file transfer protocols e.g. FTP/SFTP, MQ
  • Understanding of reporting tools like Business Objects, Jasper Reporting
  • Prior technical analysis experience in an application support environment
  • Good written and spoken English is a must.
  • Overall general IT knowledge is a must
  • Prior experience creating functional specifications, process flow diagrams and procedures
  • Very well versed with SDLC processes and project management practices
Minimum required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • 2 years of experience
  • 1 year experience with any database
  • 1 year of coding experience with any of the languages like VB, Java or .NET
  • Experience with different file transfer protocols e.g. FTP/SFTP, MQ
  • Prior technical analysis experience in an application support environment
  • Good written and spoken English
