SALISBURY, Md. – A local pharmacy on the Eastern Shore announced they’ll be offering free COVID-19 tests for people in the area. Health experts at Apple Discount Drugs tell 47 ABC that through the rest of the month, they’ll be designated as a self-testing collection site. So, here’s how it works: After registering, you’ll drive up in your car where you’ll be handed a kit. Then medical volunteers will help coach you through the self-testing process. You’ll be able to receive your results in just three to five days, and experts say by making this available to the community they’ll be able to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
“It’s important that everyone gets tested because we have so much tracing going on right now because of asymptomatic spreading so if we can get more people tested we can stop that spread and keep them quarantined and keep them out of circulation for a while,” said Marketing Director, Tish Withers.
Testing will be available twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the pharmacy’s Fruitland location from 10 AM to 1 PM. But you must register beforehand right here: https://doineedacovid19test.com/.
