Arkansas offers Monroe 4-star safety Jordan Young | #schoolsaftey


— The offers keep coming for Monroe High School four-star junior Jordan Young.

In a tweet on Thursday, Young announced that Arkansas has extended a scholarship offer to him.\

Young is a 6-foot, 185-pound safety and a member of the Class of 2025 at Monroe.

According to 247Sports.com, Young is the No. 2 player in North Carolina from his class and the No. 26 player nationally. The website ranks him as the No. 1 athlete nationally, capable of playing multiple positions. Rivals.com named Young to its top 250 list earlier this year.

As a sophomore last season, Young recorded 41 tackles, eight interceptions, three pass break ups, and two blocked punts. He returned one interception and one kick return for touchdowns.

On offense, Young caught 52 passes for 1,010 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for 28 yards on two carries.

His all-around performance earned Young a spot on the HighSchoolOT All-State Team last season.

Young already has a number of offers, including from Alabama, Arizona State, Charlotte, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, James Madison, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

Monroe will open the 2023 season on Aug. 18 at home against Central Davidson at 7 p.m.
