Armed police and the police helicopter have been scrambled to reports of a man thought to be carrying a knife threatening someone in Crewe this afternoon.
The incident was reported to have happened on Ford Lane in Crewe just after 2pm today, resulting in a major response from armed police officers, local officers and the force helicopter. The area was also cordoned off as a precaution.
Cheshire Police said they received a call just after 2pm from someone who said they had been threatened by a man who could be armed with a knife.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 2pm today, Friday 25 August, police were called to reports of an incident on Ford Lane, Crewe. The caller reported that they had been threatened by a man, who was possibly armed with a knife.
“Local officers, supported by firearms officers and the police helicopter, were deployed to the scene and a cordon was put in place as a precaution. The cordon has now been lifted and officer have left the scene.
“No arrests have been made at this time.”
