Armexa reported May 2 that it’s established a licensing agreement with the International Society of Automation to deliver its industrial cybersecurity training courses in North America. Courses will be available in in-person classrooms and in virtual, instructor-led formats. Students who complete an ISA/IEC 62443 training program are eligible to sit separately for the related certificate program exam.

“Role-based training and awareness is crucial for the success of any program aimed at securing technology in operational environments,” says John Cusimano, VP of OT cybersecurity at Armexa. “By combining recognized standards, quality training materials, and expert instruction, our ISA training customers will be well-equipped with the knowledge to identify security risks, understand the impact of their decisions, and adopt practices that reduce vulnerabilities. With customized training that goes beyond the standard curriculum, we can incorporate elements tailored to an organization’s risks and needs.”

The following courses are available:

  • Using ISA/IEC 62443 to secure control systems (IC32);
  • Introduction to industrial automation security and the ISA/IEC 62443 (IC32C);
  • Assessing the cybersecurity of new or existing IACS systems (IC33);
  • IACS cybersecurity design and implementation (IC34); and
  • IACS cybersecurity operations and maintenance (IC37).

“Armexa’s trainers will enhance our course material with examples from real-life scenarios,” adds Dalton Wilson, ISA’s managing director of education services. “This helps participants apply what they learn in everyday situations.”
