Arsenal’s U18s clash against Brighton has been hilariously postponed after the team travelled to the wrong town.

The fixture was scheduled to kick-off at the Seagulls’ Amex Stadium at 12pm on Saturday, but the start was delayed by half-an-hour when the Gunners failed to turn up. It later transpired that they’d travelled to Bournemouth by mistake – a whopping 95 miles out of their way – and the game was later postponed.

Fans on social media thought the whole thing was a farce. One X user wrote: “Who is the driver? Was he drunk?” Another said: “How does this happen in this day and age?”

“Hahaha the driver literally had one job. He’s finito,” wrote a third, while a fourth joked: “Should’ve gone to Specsavers.”

Arsenal were looking to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to four matches. The team, who are managed by Gunners icon Jack Wilshere, are seventh in the U18 Premier League, having won three of their first eight games of the season.
