Cybersecurity is an undisputed priority for individuals, companies and governments. As technological advances develop, new doors are opening for cybercriminals, who take advantage of emerging gaps and vulnerabilities to devise more sophisticated tactics and more targeted attacks.

Data theft, identity theft and financial scams on the internet are the order of the day. So much so that, in 2022 in Spain, as stated in a report from the Ministry of the Interior, cybercrimes increased by 22% compared to the previous year, and it does not seem that this year the figure will be lower.

Given the advance of this type of crime, companies, organizations and institutions take measures to protect privacy and offer greater security to users. It is in this field where Artificial Intelligence takes on special relevance, which has emerged as a powerful ally in the fight against digital threats, revolutionizing the field of cybersecurity.

In this way, a new standard is being established in proactive defense,” explains Miguel Rego, director of the Cybersecurity area at IMMUNE Technology Institute.

From analyzing large volumes of data to identifying patterns, AI has boosted real-time detection and response capabilities. These intelligent systems can not only recognize and isolate anomalous behavior on a network, but also anticipate potential threats by observing trends, patterns or inconsistencies that might go unnoticed by conventional security methods. This contextual analysis and automatic response capability has raised the bar for effectiveness in cyber defense, setting a higher standard for digital security in a rapidly evolving environment.

This approach based on the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to combat cybercriminals is not only limited to the initial login stage, but is continuously integrated throughout the user experience. By constantly monitoring behavioral patterns, AI can dynamically adapt as the user interacts with the platform. This involves constant analysis of each session initiated, evaluating the authenticity of transactions, access to sensitive data and unusual activities.
