Hospital system working to have electronic health record system restored by end of next week

Ascension is making progress in its recovery from a ransomware attack. The company said Tuesday its prescription services are now back up and running. The hospital system is also working toward having its “electronic health record” system restored across its network by the end of next week. Clinicians would then be able to access patient records, as they did before last month’s cyberattack.”These developments mark a turning point in our response efforts to this ransomware attack. With EHR access restored in several of our largest markets, with the rest expected to come over the course of the week, we are moving out of downtime procedures and closer to normal course operations across our ministry. We are confident we will continue to provide quality care as this process accelerates,” Ascension President Eduardo Conrado said in a news release.
