In the second week after suffering a ransomware attack, Ascension Health Care remained focused on safely restoring the multiple systems that were disrupted at its 140 hospitals across the country, including three in Jacksonville, as the company, the FBI and multiple cybersecurity experts investigate the cause.

“Ascension continues to make progress toward restoration and recovery,” according to the company’s latest statement. “We continue to work with industry-leading forensic experts … to conduct our investigation into this attack and understand the root cause and how this incident occurred. Our priority remains providing quality patient care and relaying up-to-date information when available as we work through this recovery process.”

Ascension’s Florida hospitals, physician offices and care sites, including those in Jacksonville, are “open and operational,” according to the statement. But there are delays in some of their systems.
