An Asheboro City Schools bus driver was among the 19 individuals arrested last week as the result of a multi-agency child predator sting.

Tony Darrell Howard, age 53, was arrested on Aug. 2 and was charged with Solicitation of a Minor by Computer and Appear on Location and Dissemination of Obscene Material.
Howard was given a $50,000 secured bond and he remains in custody in Randolph County.
According to a release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, He appeared in court on Wednesday, Aug. 2, and the Asheboro City Schools district confirmed Howard was “a former bus driver with their district.”
It is yet unclear from the release whether or not Howard was employed with the district at the time of his arrest.
Howard was arrested as part of a joint-taskforce sting called “Operation Child Predator,” which was conducted by 20 North Carolina local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
According to the Randolph Sheriff’s release, the following law enforcement agencies were part of the operation:
