Offering will help insureds respond more quickly and effectively to cyber threats

Aspen launches suite of cyber services

Aspen Insurance Holdings has announced the launch of Aspen Cyber Risk Services (ACRS), a suite of services that will help Aspen insureds to proactively deal with cybersecurity threats. The offering was launched in partnership with Surefire Cyber.

The ACRS offering is provided on policies sold globally. It will be available to Aspen’s primary cyber insureds, the company said.

ACRS will help insureds assess and prepare for cyber incidents and respond more quickly and effectively when an incident occurs. The offering will also help measure the effectiveness of an organization’s cyber controls and provide recommendations to improve resilience to ransomware attacks.

Aspen’s primary insureds will be able to select one customized service at no charge during each policy period, the company said. These services include: a technical tabletop exercise, ransomware resilience assessment, cybersecurity improvement plan, legal tabletop exercise, or code red alerts.

Aspen said that a key differentiator of the ACRS offering is the ransomware resilience assessment, which tests network defenses by simulating a ransomware attack, using the current tactics and techniques of major ransomware groups. The simulated attack is followed by a workshop discussing what assets and data could have been compromised during the attack, allowing customers to make effective contingency plans.

“As threats in cybersecurity continue to increase, ACRS will empower customers to detect risks at an early stage and provide them with the tools needed to respond swiftly and decisively,” said Bobby Bianconi, global head of cyber at Aspen Insurance. “We are delighted to partner with Surefire Cyber’s first-class team of experts to deliver this powerful offering globally to our insureds as the cyber threat landscape continues evolving rapidly.”

“Ransomware continues to plague organizations across all industries, but with proper planning they can mitigate the risk,” said Billy Gouveia, CEO of Surefire Cyber. “Our team is excited to be working with Aspen to offer their primary cyber insureds a suite of pre-loss services to improve their cybersecurity posture.”

Last month, Aspen announced that it had made a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission in preparation for an initial public offering of its ordinary shares. The company also recently announced the appointment of Michael Tate as head of product and underwriting for inland marine.
