PIERRE PART, La. (BRPROUD) — An Assumption Parish man pled guilty to child pornography charges on Sept. 7 after being arrested in 2022.
The 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office said Tal Gaudet, 34, was arrested after the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation into Gaudet distributing child pornography through social media. Agents conducted a search of his residence and found electronic devices that were submitted for testing.
The district attorney’s office said Gaudet told agents that he was the user of the reported social media account and had viewed and traded images of child pornography. He was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Gaudet was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. When he is released, he will have to register and be notified as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 25 years.
