“Once we stop, they will turn from amber to red and a stop sign will come out,” explains Seda. Much like any stop sign on your route, it is illegal to run this stop from either direction—unless there is a median between your car and the school bus.
Seda says parents who send their kids on the school bus should remind children to practice basic safety at the bus stop and during the route—stand back from the curb until it’s time to board, remain seated and orderly during the ride, and do not send your child on the bus with breakfast or an afternoon snack.
