Job Summary

The Community Support Services(CSS) Behavior Analyst 1 (BA1) provides lead functions and technical assistance for CSS wraparound mobile units across the state and provides assistance with CSS cases as outlined by the BA1 Supervisor or designee. The BA1 has influence to steer the outcome of services for persons referred to CSS by providing individualized, multidisciplinary training, technical assistance and response to community providers and other professionals to enhance their abilities to manage difficult behavioral issues and increase the stability of the person living in the community. The BA1 may support regional liaison Forensic CSS liaisons in assisting with the monitoring and support of clients committed as mentally ill and dangerous (MI&D) on provisional discharge from Minnesota Security Hospital. Given the integrated nature of CSS work, the BA1 functions as a problem-solver using person-centered methods to influence effective case formulation, care coordination and system change. The BA1 suggests and/or recommends to the CSS team supervisor or designee, a case direction based on the specifics of the referral and on-site observations.


Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have:

knowledge of:
-behavior modification principles sufficient to plan and design individual treatment programs for assigned residents;
-professional and ethical guidelines, federal and state laws, and Department rules governing the practice of behavior modification sufficient to ensure that the design of treatment plans are appropriate and that treatment plans are implemented correctly;
-training methods sufficient to ensure program delivery staff learn and understand the purpose and methods of implementing individual program plans;
-assessment instruments and measurement principles sufficient to develop valid, reliable measures of client needs and progress;
-basic health and safety principles and requirements sufficient to ensure safety needs of residents are met;
-medications and medication control procedures sufficient to identify behavior problems related to medications;


the ability to:
-communicate effectively in writing sufficient to ensure treatment documentation is accurate and provides the treatment team with a common understanding of treatment goals and progress;
-translate behavior observations into quantifiable data.

Possess a valid Minnesota Driver’s License
