Bethesda Man Arrested In NoVA Child Predator Sting: Sheriff | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

A Bethesda resident, a man legally renamed George Washington and 4 others were charged in a sting of child predators, NoVA officials said.

BETHESDA, MD — A Bethesda man is among six suspects facing charges in relation to an online child sex sting by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, while another accused in the case is a man who changed his name to George Washington.

The sheriff’s office worked with the Northern Virginia-Washington DC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on the week-long sting. Through internet chats by undercover detectives during the week of April 8, authorities say six suspects were caught trying to set up indecent relations with minors. The suspects thought they were chatting with children under age 15.

The suspects arrested were Julio Camajuare Cisneros, 66, of Herndon; Rodney Stevens Martin, 62, of Sterling; Kodee Michael Matz, 23, of Herndon; Miguel Angel Ibarra Parada, 36, of Sterling; Yotin Singtong, 39, of Bethesda, Maryland, and George Washington (formerly Donnie Gray Lee), 36, of Mount Vernon.

The sheriff’s office clarified to Patch that George Washington is the suspect’s legal name and that he uses Mount Vernon as his address.

“Stopping child predators is a critical part of law enforcement, and I am proud of the outstanding work of our detectives and partners in making these arrests,” said Sheriff Mike Chapman in a statement. “The actions of these individuals are extremely disturbing and highlight the need for parents and guardians to actively monitor their children’s use of electronic devices and chat applications.”

In light of the internet predator bust, the sheriff’s office encouraged parents and guardians to review resources on protecting children online from the Northern Virginia-Washington DC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Net Smartz Kids.
