Dating in the age of a pandemic is hard but people are finding creative ways to keep the love alive.

One couple who met on a dating app didn’t get the chance to meet in real life, due to lockdown restrictions.

But Marina Carlos, 31, and her boyfriend Antoine found a clever way to form their own connection.

The couple matched their outfits during all their virtual dates.

When France’s lockdown, which started on 17 March, was lifted on 11 May, the pair were able to meet in person for the first time.

Of course, their real-life date also consisted of complementary fashion choices.

The couple say coordinating their clothes in this way made them more comfortable when they eventually met up.

Marina, a disability rights advocate, matched with graphic designer Antoine on Bumble.

The pair documented all their virtual date looks and Marina shared the images on Reddit where users lapped it up.

Marina added: ‘We both feel that the lockdown allowed us to really get to know each other in a deep and meaningful way!

‘And now that we’ve built a strong foundation, we really appreciate every moment together and are looking forward to the future – even if it feels quite uncertain nowadays.’

People were really here for the romance, wishing them luck for the future.

Another said: ‘Oh my word, you are adorable together and you’re confirming the French stereotype of being super fashionable! I hope it is the beginning of something wonderful!’

What a great couple. We wonder what they’ll wear on their next socially distanced date.
