A Burlington sex offender is charged after parents reported a suspicious man at the park. On Tuesday, the Burlington Police Department responded to the 400 block of East Willowbrook Drive around 11:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a suspicious person around the park. Officials say concerned parents gathered a description of the man, who had left the area and called to report. Burlington Police officers and members of the Specials Victim’s Unit say they responded immediately and were able to run the car tags to identify Jimmy Lawrence Shue, 69, a registered sex offender from Burlington. Officers located Shue at his home and were able to confirm he was at the park after investigating. He was charged with sex offender unlawfully on premises. Shue was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center, where he received a $250,000 secured bond. Burlington Police officers and members of the Specials Victim’s Unit say they responded immediately and were able to run the car tags to identify Jimmy Lawrence Shue, 69, a registered sex offender from Burlington.

Officers located Shue at his home and were able to confirm he was at the park after investigating. He was charged with sex offender unlawfully on premises.
