The Burton School Board will go over the results of a safety and security audit at its meeting on Monday.
The safety audit was conducted on March 28th by the Region 6 Education Service Center. Texas Education Code 37.108 states that at least once every three years, each school district must conduct a safety and security audit of district facilities in order to identify potential hazards, threats or vulnerabilities.
Later, the board will discuss distributing information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms.
Other items for consideration include Burton ISD’s 2023 wellness policy and plan, as well as a potential policy update. Trustees will also receive monthly reports and an update on the bond facilities project.
The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton High School auditorium.
