Cape Coral man sentenced for credit card fraud, ID theft

A Cape Coral man was sentenced to three years in federal prison for credit card fraud and identity theft.

Henry Alberto Fernandez Gomez, 30, was also ordered to repay $8,070.45 in restitution to his victims, and the same amount to the federal government.

According to the plea agreement, between Dec. 30, 2014, and April 13, 2015, Fernandez Gomez used stolen and unauthorized credit card information 27 times at retail establishments throughout Florida to purchase various items, including $3,500 in furniture. He also used another person’s means of identification to make a retail purchase.
