Cara Delevingne said she’s likely to delete her X (formerly known as Twitter) page after it was recently hacked, and company officials were slow to reset her account.
The 31-year-old actress-model on Monday took to the social media platform, on which she has more than 9,000,000 followers, to explain the situation.
‘I was hacked a week ago and it took so long to be able to get back into my account,’ the London native said on her account, which she set up in June of 2011.
The supermodel said that her account was hacked by scammers who set up a phony computer business to advertise to Delevingne’s followers.
‘If you ever see anything about Mac books or trying to sell anything from this twitter, it is NOT REAL!!! Sorry guys! I sincerely apologize,’ she said.
Delevingne said that officials with the company, which has let go a significant chunk of its workforce since Elon Musk took over, was too slow in its response to the illegal hacking.
‘I am so angry at twitter or whatever the f*** it’s called now for taking so long to get my account back!!’ she said. ‘So many people got scammed and I am furious.
Delevingne said the experience has convinced her to get rid of her page on the platform, advertising the alternate social media sites where she has a presence.
‘I am going to delete my account so this never happens again,’ she said. ‘Still on instagram, threads and tik tok. Again, I am so sorry for this.’
Delevingne was seen last Thursday in her native London with fellow models Adwoa Aboah and Emily Ratajkowski at the Vogue World and Moncler afterparty.
The swanky event was held at private Mayfair members’ club George with the pals all appearing in great spirits following the bash.
Cara couldn’t disguise her ripped tights as she rocked a whole new look at the swanky event following her ‘bizarre’ performance on stage earlier in the evening.
The model and actress caused a stir earlier on Thursday night when she emerged from the crowd in the Theatre Royal Drury Lane sporting a colourful punk mohawk.
Cara was seen cheering as she milled amongst the celebrities’ tables while FKA Twigs performed, before she jumped up on stage to kiss the singer.
Cara had sported blonde locks to the ATG Summer Party only a night prior, but over the course of 24 hours dyed her hair into a leopard print pattern with various shades of green and a pink fringe.
The fashionista opted to forego trousers as she stepped out in a lilac cardigan and white T-shirt to mingle with stars at the afterparty.
Meanwhile british model Adwoa, 31, out on a very leggy display in a sparkly burgundy cardigan which she teamed with matching underwear.
The look was adorned with floral embellishments and she sported dramatic eye-make-up and toted a chic Miu Miu bag.
She took the hands of Cara, 31, and Emily, 32, in turn as she helped her pals navigate the busy street before helping them into their waiting cars
Their pal Emily flashed plenty of skin in a black ripped mesh dress which showcased her toned physique.
The star paired the dress with some black heeled boots which seemed to feature black leg warmers as she flashed a glimpse of her underwear beneath the frock.
In partnership with Moncler, the event celebrated Vogue World and the start of London Fashion Week. The celebrations – fuelled by flutes of Laurent Perrier and Don Julio 1942 tequila – capped off an unforgettable night of fashion.
Other big names seen leaving the star-studded event included Jenna Coleman, Rita Ora, Jodie Turner Smith and Maisie Williams after stunning onlookers hours earlier with their eye-catching outfits.
They were joined by the likes of fellow A-listers Stormzy, Claire Foy, Tom Daley, Daisy Edgar Jones and Ashley Walters.
Earlier in the night supermodels, acting legends, royalty and some of the biggest names in showbusiness gathered at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane for the Vogue World Show.
The glittering one-off extravaganza kickstarts London Fashion Week and Sienna Miller, Rita Ora, Jodie Turner Smith and Winnie Harlow hit the red carpet – while Victoria Beckham slipped in through the back entrance.
For the Opening Night themed bash, Sienna, 41, who is expecting her second child – her first with boyfriend Oli Green, 26 – pushed maternity style boundaries as she showed off her bump in a Schiaparelli couture crop top and puff ball skirt.
Jodie put on the most daring display of the night as she rocked up in just a black thong, silk evening gloves and a large black satin bow covering her chest that was seen on Viktor & Rolf’s catwalk earlier this year.
Model Winnie, 29, exuded glamour in a plunging Zuhair Murad black velvet gown with a statement white satin coat which brought plenty of drama with its puffed up neckline, while Rita, 32, turned heads in a Alia black fishtail dress.
The event – dubbed Britain’s answer to the iconic Met Gala – is the brainchild of Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour but viewers, who watched via the YouTube livestream, took to social media to admit they left baffled by the ‘bizarre’ show.
