By Pramod Madhav: A 29-year-old man, involved in a murder, was hacked to death by five men in Tamil Nadu’s Karaikudi district on Sunday. The victim, identified as Arivazhagan alias Vinith, a resident of Madurai, and ordered to sign in at the police station for being involved in a murder case.
When Vinith stepped out on the busy road, five men who came in an SUV surrounded and chased Vinith, the video shows. As Vinith fell to the ground after losing his balance, the men in the video can be seen mercilessly thrashing him with sticks and rods even as the onlookers watch.
The video also shows a man in a blue-coloured shirt coming to the rescue of the victim but in vain. The five men then fled in the car and Vinith was lying on the road. He was rushed to the hospital but died on the way.
Police have detained his friends for questioning and are on the lookout for the miscreants. Vinith was out on conditional bail and was staying with two friends in a lodge.
