Ryan Thomas has opened up about his and partner Lucy Mecklenburgh’s struggles raising their baby son Roman during the coronavirus pandemic.
Born in March, just before the nationwide lockdown, Roman is Ryan’s second child behind 11-year-old Scarlett (from his previous relationship with Coronation Street‘s Tina O’Brien).
During a recent Instagram Q&A, the Celebrity Big Brother winner discussed obstacles the family have come across since Roman’s arrival.

“The hardest thing for us was not having any help or support within the house,” he revealed. “I wasn’t allowed to see my daughter, my brothers [because of lockdown].
“Those are the moments you want to share with the most important people in your life, that was taken away from you, so I found that a struggle.”
Their baby boy was born with a dairy intolerance, which meant Lucy was forced to change her diet whilst breastfeeding.
“It’s Lucy who’s suffered massively through the dairy intolerance,” noted Ryan. “Lucy can’t have dairy – she loves her feta – all the things have been taken away from her because whatever she’s having, Roman has.”
