CEOs Talk Cybersecurity At CBR Opening Breakfast | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #ransomware

Cybersecurity teams face an escalating array of threats, changing security regulations and even the chance of being sued personally should a breach occur. All this means that security and corporate leaders must communicate like never before to balance business risk against investment.

TVNewsCheck’s fifth annual Cybersecurity for Broadcasters Retreat will address this issue during a Breakfast Workshop, CEOs and Cybersecurity, on Oct. 26 at NAB Show New York.

Tom O’Brien, president, The Weather Group and EVP, Allen Media Group; Jeff Rosica, CEO, Avid Technology; and Brian Morris, CISO, Gray Television, will join moderator Sali Osman, an executive technology, cybersecurity and privacy board adviser for the 9 a.m. session at the Javits Center.

“The security community has tended to speak to their CEOs and boards of directors in technical terms, and they need to better learn how to communicate in terms of business risk balanced against cybersecurity investment,” said TVNewsCheck Publisher and Co-Founder Kathy Haley.

“Threats are up exponentially this year, and AI is making that even worse,” Haley said. “Top executives and boards need to understand they are facing a business risk, not a technical one, and square that with their own risk threshold accordingly.”

Other CBR sessions are

  • View from the Trenches: Crisis Management in 2023
  • Convergent Digital Disruptors and Media Industry Security
  • How Not to Get Run Over by New Security Regulations
