Charity to host business talk about cyber crime | #cybercrime | #infosec

Cyber crime will be the centre of a talk for businesses in the area being held by a Newtown-based charity next month.

The Ponthafren Association is to host its business support event on 8th September with a guest speaker from the Cyber Crime Resilience Centre for Wales.

It’ll be held at its centre in Welshpool at 11am.

“This time is the beginning of our guest speaker series, and we begin with a talk from the Cyber Crime Resilience Centre for Wales. The presentation will be to raise awareness of the threat of cybercrime and what a business can do to protect itself from becoming a victim. Topics will include the current threat landscape, phishing emails, multi-factor authentication, device security, and passwords,” said a spokesperson at Ponthafren.

If you would like to book a place tickets are £5 per person and you can book through this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/687804350327?aff=oddtdtcreator

Proceeds from the sale of tickets will go to support the work of Ponthafren.

“Refreshments will be provided followed by networking opportunities after. We recommend you allow two hours for the visit. Please note parking at the Welshpool centre is limited and we recommend parking nearby,” added the spokesperson.
