Chico High School safety team issues hold alert Thursday morning | News | #schoolsaftey


CHICO, Calif. 10:57 A.M. UPDATE – The incident involved an upset parent at Chico High School, the Chico Police Department said.

Chico High initiated the hold, not Chico police.

Chico police said Chico High staff were able to get the parent to leave without any issues.

No arrests were made by Chico police.

The Chico Unified School District said in a statement, “At approximately 9:15 a.m. this morning, Chico High School’s safety team issued a CUSD Hold Alert. Hold Alerts are often brief and related to student privacy on campus. During this time, learning activities continued in the classroom.

The CUSD Hold Alert was issued due to concern regarding an escalated situation at the front of the school. Chico Police Department officers assisted with de-escalating the situation in the parking lot, and the Hold Alert was released at approximately 9:55 a.m. Students continued to their second-period class as scheduled.”
