LONG VALLEY, NJ — As the weather begins to warm up and summer approaches, the RE/MAX offices will host an official Child Safety seminar and workshop in May for all members of the community.
The community event will be held on May 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Schooleys Mountain Fire Department, which is located at 231 Schooleys Mountain Road.
According to Bob Bednar, office manager at RE/MAX Heritage Properties, they will have EMS services from Saint Clare’s Hospital present information about some of the most common child safety concerns and how to deal with them.
Some of the topics include:
- Summer emergencies
- Heat exhaustion/stroke
- Water safety
- Sport safety
- Helmet safety
Parents that are interested in attending the seminar are encouraged to do so as soon as possible as there is a space limit of 120 attendees, officials said.
Along with the Saint Clare’s Hospital staff, there will also be local experts available to answer any potential questions from community members.
All attendees are encouraged to stick around for a tour of an emergency vehicle after the presentation. Following the seminar, coffee and other refreshments will be provided, officials said.
The Chester real estate company is also giving back to the community by partnering with the Long Valley Food Pantry and encouraging all attendees to bring a donation to the local food pantry.
According to Laura Winters, LVCAP Director and President, the food pantry could use the following items:
- Coffee (No K-Cups)
- Pancake Syrup
- Salad Dressing
- Feminine Pads
- Jelly
- Shampoo
- Paper Products
- Canned Fruit
- Hormel Complete Meals (microwaveable)
- Laundry Detergent
- Bottled Water
- Canned Chicken
- Snack bars of any kinds
- Cookies Crackers
- Quaker Old Fashioned Oats (in canister)
