MUNCIE, Ind. – A Parker City man was arrested Monday after he was charged with sexually abusing two children.
Jerry Richard Warner, 50, is charged in Delaware Circuit Court 5 with two counts of child molesting, one a Level 1 felony carrying up to 40 years in prison, and the other a Level 4 felony with a maximum 12-year sentence.
Muncie police began an investigation in August after a local woman reported the sexual abuse.
Warner was a friend of his accusers’ family, according to an affidavit. According to that document, her parent insisted one of the accusers repeat her allegations in Warner’s presence.

Investigators reviewed text messages in which Warner reportedly denied the allegations, but also apologized to the victims’ mother for “hurting her and the girls.”
“He also stated he would never bother her or the girls again if she would just let him go,” an investigator wrote.
Authorities said they reviewed Facebook postings made last week in which Warner reportedly announced plans to leave Indiana and move to Florida.
