Pink Aid Long Island’s Semi-Virtual 7th Anniversary Celebration was broadcast on Saturday 10/10 to hundreds of supporters who purchased event links and Party Packages to mark this milestone in small party pods across the country. An amazing line-up of guest hosts including Amy Robach, Lisa Loeb, Jim Nantz, Hoda Kotb, Pat Battle. Susie Essman, and Billy Joel, were a few of the highlights. An appearance by Country Music superstars, “Old Dominion”, a peek at the latest in cashmere from Brunello Cucinelli and a prerecorded “Celebration of Life Fashion Show” featuring six women recovering from breast cancer, gave the event its emotional core.
Twenty-five year breast cancer survivor, Lita Cohen Rudy, was honored along with event sponsors including the Rechler Philanthropy, and The Pufahl Family. Guests received lots of Pink Aid swag to get their parties started including specialty cocktail kits courtesy of Cylinder Vodka and treats from Marcia Selden Catering & Events.
Since its founding in 2011, Pink Aid has donated more than $6.5 million to 47 different programs and hospitals in Connecticut and on Long Island. Through its Pink Purse Initiative, Pink Aid provides direct financial assistance to cover essential household expenses like rent and utility bills, babysitting, and transportation to and from treatment. Since many Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck, the current pandemic with its impact on employment is further fueling the financial crisis for families across the country.
